hi there. i've read your website and lj several times over the past year or so, and am just now getting the nerve up to ask to be added.

credentials? lakme is one of my dearest friends. back when they ate it, i always made my kids homemade babyfood. i breastfed religiously. i used cloth diapers. i absolutely refused to circumcise my son. after a few years trying out the public school system, we're getting ready to homeschool my daughter. i'm all crafty and shit. and i have a collection of garish and gaudy saint candles, even though i don't consider myself christian.

i feel like a real nimrod, but add me? i'm boring but nice and loyal.

nervous as hell, but i'm sure we'll be much more successful than her school has... plus, oddly enough, her principal is very supportive so she can take part in all the after-school programs she can handle. kinda makes me wonder if he wants her gone because her standardized test scores are low, but hey. i'll take what i can get.

I've heard more about principals supporting that lately, it's rather odd...but I think the test score thing is probably the reason.

yes, until she is old enough for the structure of homeschooling...then we'll slowly convert it over to where it's mostly homeschooling (with some unschooling principles) by the time she's 5.

ATM, Emma thrives in the unschooling environment. I hope that the gradual change will work best for her. If it doesn't, or if she needs something else, well...I'm open to that as well.
